We at Swerec are proud to work at Europe's most modern
plant for plastics recycling. We recycle plastic packaging from
Swedish, Norwegian and Danish households.
Swerecs subsidiary in Denmark, Danrec AS, manufactures plastic
sheets from recycled HDPE and LDPE, DAN-Board. The plates are used
for example in animal housing, as floor coverings as well as
driving plates for vehicles. More info at danrec.dk
We are a partner in a Dutch plastics company, Fry-Rec BV, which
produces pellets of recycled polypropylene. The pellets are
delivered primarily to manufacturers of plastic products in the
Netherlands but also to the Swedish plastics industry. The raw
material for the pellets derive from the plastic collected from
households; ketchup and shampoo bottles, glass boxes, caps and
more.
We also have cooperation with several municipalities in Sweden and
Denmark, where we accept other plastics from households, such as
crates, sleds, furniture, pipes, etc. that are not packaging. The
plastics are sorted, washed, mills, and sold back to the plastics
industry again.
For each kilo plastic we recycle we save one kilogram of oil and
reduce carbon dioxide emissions by two kilos!
